Birthwares is owned and operated by Sarah Hilbert-West and her family. Sarah is a mother of three and the step-mother to two. Sarah is part Chickasaw and Cherokee Indian, tribes from the southern United States.
Sarah is a Birth Doula, Childbirth Educator and a Breastfeeding Counsellor, trained through the Perinatal Program at Douglas College in Vancouver, Canada. She is also a Post-Partum Depression Support Group Facilitator. Sarah is thrilled to be a student of the University of British Columbia Midwifery Program, planning to graduate as a Registered Midwife in 2010.
Sarah is a passionate advocate for the normalization and simplification of childbirth. She is working towards the day when all pregnant women have access to midwifery and doula care, community supports, breastfeeding support and excellent childbirth preparation.
Her aim is to offer unique, useful items to aid practioners in their support of pregnant and laboring women.
